Welcome to StudioHC.

StudioHC is a research-driven architecture and design practice where we work collaboratively with you to explore the untapped potentials of each project, creating unique and intuitive experiences guided by a disciplined approach to design.

Through a clearly defined and structured approach to the design process, we reflect on our collective cultural Past to create meaningful interventions in the Present, whilst optimistically speculating on the potentialities of our ecologically and culturally sustainable Future.

Apartment Monochroma

Renewing a 1970s unit for the 21st Century, subdued tones of grey, black and white bathed in sunlight, emphasising functionality and minimalism.

Apartment Eucalyptus

A series of versatile joinery incisions maximises storage while enveloping the home in warm wood tones, resolving the challenge of providing light and function aesthetically to this narrow duplex layout.

Barrel Vault

Working to pre-existing low ceiling and structural zones, a series of vaulted arches redefines the space, reconfiguring an existing unused garage into an extension of the family home.

Watermans Waypoint

A sculptural interactive steel and stone pavilion conceived fora competition site on the edge of Watermans Cove, Sydney. A delicate reflective metal canopy was conceived to almost float mid-air, suspended at three points by a sculptural sandstone wall and two pillars, providing protection from the elements whilst commanding views over the cove and harbour.

Mosaic

Mosaic: The People’s Pavilion celebrates a collection of the mundane and the day-to-day objects we take for granted which shape our modern world.

Boundless Plains

Bifurcating the 2017 MPavilion by OMA, Boundless Plains was designed deliberately to divide space, opening a discussion on the boundaries, separations and fences which we often erect to divide.

Round Tables

Conceived as an interactive audio-visual canopy floating within the Australian Pavilion of the Venice Biennale, Round Tables provides a place and a space for the sharing of ideas, stories and conversations reflecting on the theme of an inclusive built environment.
