To meet the needs of a growing family, the original semi-detached two-bedroom sandstone cottage was reconfigured to accommodate a second storey, transforming the residence into a three-bedroom home. An earthy material palette of terracottas, reds and green pays tribute to the yellow sandstone which defines the original 19th Century cottage, carefully conserved with a delicate second storey addition added to the rear.
In addition to architectural design services, StudioHC has been responsible for overseeing the town planning permission process, the heritage conservation assessment and interior design and styling for the project. Working closely with contractors GB Homes and joiners GB Interiors, StudioHC supervised construction works under a fixed price architect administered contract to ensure the clients had both design and financial certainty for the project.
Due for completion in Q3-2026.
